Recap | 09-12-12

First of all, we would like to thank all of you for coming on Wednesday night! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions. Here’s a quick recap of our meeting and some things to remember:
AMSA/Pre-Health Conference
  • Where: UC Davis
  • When: October 6-7th (Leave Friday afternoon/evening, Return Sunday night)
  • Who: YOU! Anyone interested in Medicine, Public Health, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, PA, Podiatry, or Chiropractic.
  • How: The cost of the trip will be $30. You can pay in cash (to Alyssa Davis – Emerson 312 – no later than Wednesday) or check (made out to Mitchell Coleman).

  • Focus on being a Christ-centered club, especially through Street Health Outreach (SHO) — Look for this new ministry at the Community Picnic on Sept. 20th!
  • We, as officers, friends, mentors, etc., hope to be a resource as you pursue your pre-health career, so feel free to contact any and all of us with questions, comments, concerns, or if you want to hang out and get a blender’s or coffee!
  • If you were not able to go to the conference don’t worry, we go every year and there will be plenty more opportunities.
  • We are planning on having many fun events and field trips as a club that you can participate in, specifically our trip to tour UCLA’s medical school.

Can’t wait to see all of you at the Community Picnic! Good luck with those first tests coming up, and don’t worry, those science classes are so worth it!

Fun Fact: Over a four year period (2007-2010), 62 out of 68 Westmont Pre-Med students were accepted into at least one medical school program, corresponding to a 91% success rate. Check out this site for more information about being a Pre-Health student at Westmont:
